Choosing my Revolution

So, I found this awesome website, and it looked interesting, and I figured, why not?

KEY:
Broke Women from Lithuania

THEORY:
Alright, so the Manifesto is all about the people who don't quite fit in, right? Written by a guy who doesn't do what's expected of him because he's found a better way. And at the end, it says we should change the status quo, and root for the underdog (note icon :D). So, here's my theory: All the keys are people you wouldn't ever hear from, normally, but could really have important things to say. Nobody's going to listen to the poor, especially if they're from a foreign country (and sadly enough, especially if they're women.) These are the underrepresented groups, the people whose voices have never been heard... before the Revolution, anyway.

This revolution will begin with ten thousand voices all over the world, typing a message like this; shouting into the darkness. Maybe we'll be heard, this time.

Wow, it's been a while, eh?

Don't know if anyone out there cares, but I'm still alive. Yay!

The lone thing of import in my life right now is my college applications are DONE! Yay!

Also, my dog is adorable. That is all.

The Humor Meme

Sunny/Dark: 7/10
drY/Gross: 4/10
Traditional/Offbeat: 3/10
Active/Passive: 4/10

You are a DYT--Dark Dry Traditional. This makes you a Cynic.

You're a realist. You'll take the piss out of anything, and do it with style and a skinny gray tie. You find humor in the mundane. When the mundane is thousands of working class families watching their retirement savings get snarfed by unpunished white collar bandits, that REALLY gets the larfs.

You bring humor with you, and can flip over any situation to find the tender funny underbelly.

Incidentally, you're better equipped than anyone else to shake off the bad things happen to you. Mysterious lump? You've seen scarier lumps in your garlic cheesey grits. It seems like nothing makes you truly happy, but nothing really upsets you, either.

Your comic sensibility was more in tune with the eighties. But cross your fingers -- another coupla years of Bush and maybe we'll work up a nice Reagan-era national bitterness again. A sardonic orange cat will once again rule the newsprint, and Springsteen'll write more righteous Jersey retro-cock-rock anthems for the progressive pols of 2024 to cold gank. What's past is prologue!

You might like David Letterman, or maybe stay up to see if Conan has another "Pierre Bernard's Recliner of Rage."

Of the 11110 people who have taken this quiz, 10.7 % are this type.

Your Active humor score of 4/10 means you're a yellow dash of comedy down the middle of the humorous road. You prefer to listen than to be the center of attention, inserting funny observations and comments rather than driving the herd. That's cool. Just remember that the quantity of funny you provide tends to make people think you're up to something.

The College Checklist of DOOM!

So, I'm out for a walk with my father this morning. Out of the big, blue sky, he asks me, "So, how's the checklist going?"

D'oh.

See, he's been on me for probably six months as to what kind of college that I want to go to. Never mind the fact that I have abso-bloody-lutely no idea what I want to do or where I want to learn it. So he asks me what my "core values" are. What I like in a school and so forth. Here's the quick list:

1. Smallish school. I have issues knowing what the names of the new kids in my grade are, and there's only approximately 100 kids total. Me trying to figure out who the heck sits next to me in a class I've been taking for a semester is a routine occurence. So, small school= small classes= less names to learn!

2. No large cities, or at least a city with a lot of trees/mountains/nature readily available. Cannot live where there are no trees. Lakes also acceptable.

3. There have to be people I can hold an intelligent conversation with. This is the whole reason I'm switching to AP US history this year.

4. Said people should be friendly, or at least not openly hostile. Nerds are fine, snobs are not.

5. The library must have a semi-decent atmosphere (A.K.A. rather close to the Upper School library when it's quiet). I live in libraries already, so that'll probably end up being my place of refuge if or when I get a roommate I loath, or one that likes pop music. They'll probably have to forward my mail to the Fiction section.

So, because Dad said I had to write this down, and because I really need to figure out how the Memories function works on this thing, I decided to post here, see what you all think.
P.S.- Wow! I'm not posting at some ungodly hour of the night!

DDR: My anti-lazy

So, I was playing DDR yesterday, and, out of curiosity, I decided to check out the training programme thingy. Couldn't hurt, right?

Obviously, the people who programmed the tutorials are insane. How do you expect a beginner to be able to TURN AROUND ON THE PAD?!? I mean, do the experts even do that? (I'm looking at you, chaggy.) It just seems unnecessarily complicated to me.

Family is cool!

So, this past week my parents have been off on vacation in California with some of their friends, and various aunts, uncles, and cousins have been taking care of my brother and me.

Cool things that happened:
1. Cousin Kelly put highlights in my hair for free, as she needed to practice.
2. Uncle Steve took me and my brother bowling. That's the first time I've been in probably a couple years, and I actually won. Well, one of the games, anyways. Still fun, though.
3. I figured out how to get to Pizza Hut. Mmm... Pizza....
4. I drove places and didn't crash! My brother trusts me!

My parents will be home in a couple of hours, and I'm sure they had a great time. But, for just staying home and doing nothing, I had a pretty good time on their vacation as well.

Allez-Cuisine!

So, I just got done watching "Iron Chef," and I got to thinking about the program in general. What is it about this show that grabs such a dedicated fanbase? I mean, it's cooking for crying out loud.
Maybe it's the fact that there's competition involved. There's just something about the looks on the chefs' faces that screams "determined." It's kind of cool, but frightening at the same time. The challengers and Iron Chefs alike have dedicated their lives to reaching that moment where Chairman Kaga (that is his name, right?) declares the winner. I know that I, personally, couldn't be that dedicated to anything involving cooking.
My friends all know that I can't make water boil at the proper temperature. Honestly. Last year in Science, my lab partner and I consistently got water to boil at 70 degrees Celsius. The limits of my cooking skills just barely scrape making Spaghetti-O's. There's another reason to watch: to wish that you could cook like that, or at least get to eat it. But we can't, so we just keep watching.

Sucker Bets

So, I finally got one of these things. Go me. I wouldn't be doing this right now if it wasn't for the prodding of one of my friends. See, I went on a fishing trip a couple of days ago with my uncle, and I told my friend that if I caught a fish, I would get a journal. I figured that that would happen shortly after the earth crashes into the sun, as I have caught ONE fish over the entire course of all the trips I ever took with him.

Naturally, I caught three.

So, even though my life is EXTREMELY boring, I will honor the agreement with only a modicum of whining.
